Helga Snel gives lecture for Concrete Design Competition on ENERGY
On Thursday afternoon, October 6th Helga Snel will give a lecture on sustainable building for approximately 100 students during the kick-off event for the fifth Concrete Design Competition on Energy 2011-2012.
The Concrete Design Competition is a biannual, international design competition for students, organized by a consortium of European cement and concrete associations. The aim is to encourage research-based design approach with emphasis on the material, particularly concrete. The challenge is, in contrast to "classical" competitions, completely free within the theme. Students will be asked for proposals in the theme Energy for innovative use of materials and ideas presented in an architectural design. They come from five selected countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Turkey, each with their own judges. The kick-off event for the Dutch participants will take place at the Architecture Faculty of TU Delft. The evening program in the conservatory of BK City is open to the public. Speakers that evening are Kees Kaan and Mark Burry.
