Nomination Laterna Magica IJburg for the ‘Gouden A.A.P.’

The recently launched school Laterna Magica in Amsterdam IJburg has been nominated for the Amsterdam Architecture Award 2012 (A.A.P.). At the end of April  the prize will be awarded for the fifth time to the best architectural project completed in the city of Amsterdam of the previous year. ARCAM nominated 27 projects that are competing for the Gouden A.A.P. The selection of the buildings is based on criteria such as architectural quality (from concept to detail), innovation, appearance in relation to the brief and the available budget. The jury, comprising architecture critic Indira van ‘t Klooster, architectural historian and architect Fredie Floré and architect Laurens Jan ten Kate, will visit the projects in early February and select the winner.

The projects are included in the book Amsterdam Architecture 2011-2012 (ARCAM Pocket 25). An exhibition of the 27 nominated projects will be held from late April to early June at ARCAM.
