These residences are part of the structural plan for central Hoogvliet. To achieve uniformity and historical continuity, they were designed as the ending of the existing building block. Lengthwise, the profiles and roof shapes of the new dwellings are in keeping with those of the existing dwellings. The change to monumental end façades becomes evident midway, where the straight façades begin. The high end façades face the park and respond to the adjoining church. In addition, their modern shape refers to Hoogvliet's future centre. Low roof ridges in the back provide maximum light levels in the gardens. The two colours of brick match the existing buildings and, together with the staggered first floor, create a vivid façade.
